Greetings From the Holy Land

So the last time I wrote in this blog was a week before I left for Israel. A lot has happened since that time. When I wrote in this a little over a week ago i was still in my nice house, in the nice quiet town of Carlisle and I had never been on plane before. All of that has changed since then. I am now currently sitting in the gardens of JUC. I love it here in the gardens it is a nice peaceful place to sit and has a great view over looking the New City, it is amazing. Since I am in Israel that does mean i was on a plane. That was a trying time for me I was afraid but i put it all in God's hands and let Him take care of it. I enjoyed the ride it wasn't that bad. The only part I was not a fan of was the flight from Philly to London being so long. I just felt like it kept going and going.

Since arriving in Israel i have got to meet a lot of cool people and do a little exploring. The people on this campus are amazing. They are from all over the country so it is cool to see this on place brings all of us together. The size is also amazing there is only like 45 of us. so instead of a place where you barely know people we are like one big family it is really cool. I haven't had much time to explore the city. I was in the Old City for about 2 1/2 hours today. We went on a group picture scavenger hunt it was a lot of fun and got to see some of the old city. While i was walking around there were times I had no Idea where I was. Soon I will be doing a little more exploring we are getting a tour of the New City.

My time here has been amazing so far. I can only imagine how much better it will get when i actually start leaning about the places. So thanks for all the prayers and will write soon and hopefully have pictures to post soon.

1 week away

In one week i will be leaving for what i consider the best opportunity of my life. I will have the privilege of studying in Jerusalem during the spring semester. When i have told people that i am going to Jerusalem they all seem to be jealous that i will be spending 3 months in the Holy Land while most people usually are only there for 10 days. I do consider my self very lucky and fortunateness to have this opportunity to spend my spring semester in Israel. While I am there i feel as if i will learn more about myself and grow much deeper in my faith, which is really exciting. While I am excited about this opportunity that i have i am also really nervous at the same time. One of my major fears will be flying. I have never been on an airplane before and my first flight will be across the Atlantic Ocean and really long. It will also be a new experience I will be outside of central PA for more than a week. I know life in this area and that is about it, so getting out of this area is a needed change but one that still brings nerves. The only other things that has been making me nervous is being away from my family. Sure i go to college but really it is hard to be away from my family there since they all work there. So it will be different not having someone to rely on when I need help. Overall i am really excited about this semester, it will be one of the most gratifying and growing experiences that i will have. So i am going to take it and run and we will see what happens.
