Old and New Testament Jerusalem Field Study

A great deal has happened since the last time I have posted. For starters last weekend we had our second field study for my Physical Settings class. In this class we are learning about the geography of the land of Israel. In a more simple way to put it is a historical geography class. Anyhow, last weekend we walk around Jerusalem we took a look at Jeruaslem in the Old and New Testament. Part of the trip was to go to Where the City of David was. There I learned a lot about the strugture of the city and why it was put where it was. Then we walked through the tunnels of where the water used to run in the city of David. Think about this way we walked through the water lines of the city. It was amazing to do that. It was all underground, and it was amazing to think how they would have made that considering they did not have the tools we have to day. It was really quite amazing. After lunch we spent most of the afternoon at the southern wall of the temple. That to me was the best thing we did that day. It was awesome to be on the souther steps of the temple. Those steps were the main steps to the temple. They were the steps that Paul was taught on, and where Jesus probably taught his disciples. It was just amazing to be there. After the temple we went on to St. Ann's Church. This is the area where Mary, Jesus Mother, was said to live. The church was amazing inside. The accoustics were amazing we sang amazing grace inside and when singing it had a 6 second reverberation it was amazing. That day was incredable. I have learned so much since i have been here and would need a whole seperate entry for that so look for that soon.

Love you all,
Davis
